My new kitten has an obsession with extremely hot peppers, will that hurt him?

i would never ever feed a kittne peppers!!! We have a pepper plant in the sun room and we didnt think he would mess with them. The other day i saw him playing with them and carring them around in his mouth and chewing on them but hes so litte his teeth cant peirce the skin.
