Bought some peppers at Lowes and want to know if edible?
I bought this small plant that gives small purple chile peppers that turn orange. It rained a lot this past month and the plant is bustling with them and I’d hate to let the little peppers rot away if they are edible. I don’t know the name of the plant, but perhaps someone knows what I’m talking about.
They didn’t come in an hanging basket. They came in this little plastic cube.

Will I be able to re-seed my Thai dragon peppers from the plants I grow?
I am planting a garden next year. In it, I will have Thai dragon peppers, Pumpkins, and other types of things. The question is whether I will be able to re plant a garden the following year from the seeds collected from the initial plants. The seeds are non treated, organic. I know that most commercial seeds are sterile, meaning that their offspring won’t have viable seeds. Do pumpkin and pepper seed producers do this as well?

When will my Jalapeno plants grow peppers?
We planted jalapeno starts at the beginning of April and they have grown very tall, with large leaves and lots of buds, but no peppers. We did plant a variety of other peppers in the same garden bed and none have peppers yet. When will I have peppers??!!??

Will hot peppers keep squirrels and rabbitts away?
I’m raising peppers, tomatoes and some herbs from seed. I was told that planting hot peppers as a tight perimeter around vegetables will help keep rodents out since the capsacin on the outside of the peppers burns their noses and eyes. Is this true?
Is there any other way to keep them out without resorting to artificial chemicals or shotguns?

Do you have to grow sweet peppers and hot peppers away from each other ?
A friend told me that you can’t grow sweet peppers and hot peppers together because the hot ones will lose their heat due to the influence of the sweet peppers nearby. This sounds like a load of hooey to me, but I figured I’d better check before I plant. Anyone know ?

What variety to grow for roasted red peppers?
I have never grown any red peppers before and have no idea what variety makes a good roasted red pepper – any suggestions? I love to grow heirlooms especially and am into seed saving so non-hybrids are my preference. Thanks!

How do you grow a bonsai from an azalea bush?
I remember reading in a book that it is possible to train a bush or shrub into a bonsai. I’m thinking of doing that with a bush that grows azaleas. But were can I get such a bush? It would have be small enough considering how I want it to be an indoor bonsai.

How can I sun my yellow peppers indoors without them withering?
I had a great year for my little garden but when it started getting colder, I picked all of my big peppers that would eventually turn yellow, and put them in a window basket. They turned yellow but they are a little soft and withered by the time they do that. Is there a way to sun them so they turn the proper color but are still crisp? Same thing with my banana peppers.

Why are my cherry peppers so hot?
I cut one open, thinking they’d be mildly sweet, took a bite, and for the last 20 minutes I’ve been running around the house screaming! Aren’t cherry peppers mild? I finally took a bite of chicken which seemed to help things cool off.
I do have some hot peppers in the garden, and heard that possibly by cross-pollination they can become hot? Anyone know?

Can a bonsai tree be kept inside?
I am growing the tree from Jack Pine seeds. The booklet I bought said to grow it outdoors, but it said on the cover that it could be kept on a desk. I am just making sure I don’t kill the poor little tree.
Also, Can I just let it grow naturally? Sure, it wouldn’t technically be a bonsai tree, but I don’t like the idea of manipulating a bady tree just for some weird form of art.
Thank you.

Do you have to soak bonsai tree seeds?
I recently got my new bonsai tree seed, and I’ve heard you need to soak the seeds before you plant them. Is that true? I also will take any other advice anyone can give me, or websites with helpful information.

Pepper growers: How do I tell when my cayenne peppers are ripe and ready to pick?
I have a single cayenne pepper plant. It’s not much, but I nearly lost it to a cold snap and I’m quite proud of it for recovering. About two and a half weeks ago, the plant exploded with vegetative growth, doubling in size and growing leaves like crazy.
After that, the plant grew little white blossoms that later turned into tiny red peppers. It looks like I’m going to have some fruit from this plant after all, but how do I know when they are ripe enough to pick?
And now that I think about it, I’m not too sure what to do with them once they are ripe. Should I dry them or use them fresh? How do I dry them? What do you use your peppers for?

I am growing green peppers. Some have turned red. Are these the same as red peppers in the store?
I heard that red peppers are really good for you and have a high amount of Vitamin C. Would my ripe green peppers that have turned red be high in Vitamin C? Are they like the red peppers that you can buy in the store for a higher price than green peppers? If not, where do I get the plants or seeds for red peppers? In my area, they only sell green pepper plants. Thanks!
